In 1985 I formed "Songskill", my own music publishing company. I took the idea for the name to Mykl Pratt, a young graphic artist living in Melbourne at the time. The minute Mykl showed me his logo design for Songskill, I loved it. It was so contemporary looking and classy. The bonus was that his design won the prestigious 1985 Melbourne Art Directors' Club Award for "best corporate image".

Within the structure of Little River Band you may have noticed that I co-wrote songs with all of the other writers in the band. As a songwriter I have always been open to collaborating with other writers. I enjoy the process, the exchange of ideas and the learning experience. To this day I would have to say that songwriting remains my first love. Songskill's catalogue currently holds more than 200 song titles.
